CAMPS

Traditional Day Camp

Every camp this week is fun-filled and action-packed. Campers (K – 7th grade) will experience a variety of activities including arts and crafts, environmental education, literacy education, team building activities, character development, outdoor games, swimming, and more!

Youth Sports Camp

Want to try a new sport? Sports camp teaches children the basic skills needed to succeed in each area of the sport they choose. Campers will learn the fundamentals of the game along with various positions, rules, and regulations.

Leaders In Training (LIT)

Leaders In Training camp is designed to help teens 8th – 10th grade develop leadership skills while having fun. New friends are made through group work, team building, and personal growth activities in a positive atmosphere. We are looking for our future all-star camp counselors in this program! Teens interested in LIT training will be required to participate in a short interview to be admitted into the program.

Pick up and drop off will occur in the circle in front of Silver Lake Elementary School where our camp is held.

Are lunches or snacks being provided this summer?

Camp Silver Lake does not provide meals. Parent/Guardian(s) must ensure your child has a packed, well-balanced lunch and snack each day.

Are field trips planned for this summer?

We are very excited to provide a variety of fun and engaging offsite field trips this summer! Each group will go to a different location each week. Group specifics can be found in our weekly newsletters.

What should my child wear each day to camp?

Dress your child in weather appropriate attire. Wear close-toe shoes (no flip flops, sandals, etc).

What does my child need to bring DAILY?
All children must have:

  • Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Swim attire (bathing suit, water shoes/flip flops, towel, goggles-optional, bag to carry belongings in)
  • Packed Lunch and Snack
  • Weather appropriate attire

*Please label EVERYTHING so we can help get lost and found items back to your child.*

Please DO NOT bring the following items to summer camp:

  • ­­Electronics (Ipad, cell phone, tablets, video game consoles)
  • Toys
  • Jewelry or other valuable possessions
  • Pets
  • Money
  • Alcohol or drugs of any kind (will result in IMMEDIATE dismissal from camp)
  • Anything else perceived as inappropriate

*Materials not permitted will be confiscated and held in the camp office until the end of the week or until arrangements have been made for pick-up.  Multiple offenses are subject to a camper’s dismissal from camp for the remainder of the summer season.

How do I contact the Camp Director or someone from the administration?

The Camp Directors can be reached during camp hours at 302-437-9032. You may also e-mail Krystina Schneider or Jamie Moore. If you have questions or concerns regarding registration or payments, please direct them to Patricia Robotham.

How will you communicate important camp information with parents?

Most camp communication is done through the Procare app. Parents must download the app to get real-time messages to the campground regarding their child. Parents will be contacted via phone in the case of serious or emergency situations regarding your child. We will send out weekly newsletters with important information pertaining to your child’s week including field trip information, swim schedules, and more.

Do campers swim every day?

Each camper will have a swim schedule they will follow each week.  The schedule will remain consistent for the summer. Please refer to the weekly newsletter for your child’s group swim days/times. The days campers attend field trips, they will not swim.

What is the cancellation policy?

  • DEPOSITS: A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required per child, per week to reserve your spot. This non-refundable deposit cannot be applied to additional weeks. If you need to change, cancel, or modify a week, including a change to membership status (holds, cancellations, and terminations), the Deposit paid will not be available for transfer or refund. This policy will not be applied for families authorized and utilizing Purchase of Care funding.
  • CANCELLATION AND CHANGE REQUIREMENTS: ALL Change requests must be made two weeks prior to the week you wish to change using this Cancel, Add or Change Form. If proper notice is not provided, the full week of camp fees will be due and will not be refunded. This policy will not be applied for families authorized and utilizing Purchase of Care funding.

How late can I register my child for camp? 

Camp enrollment for the upcoming week closes on Wednesdays at noon, THE WEEK PRIOR. For example, for the camp week of June 28th, enrollment closes on June 24th at noon.  No exceptions for enrollment after that time will be made without the Camp Director’s approval. As a reminder, your child is not fully enrolled until all required documents are received by the camp.

What if my child needs medication while at camp?

  • PRIOR TO the start of your child’s camp week, a medication form must be completed and brought with your child on their first day. Medication forms can be found here.  Please note:
    • Prescription medication MUST be in its original container and properly labeled with your child’s name and necessary information (dosage, how often medication is taken, etc.)
    • Over the counter (OTC) medication should be in its original container with no evidence of prior use (seal cannot be broken).
