OUR CAMP PHILOSOPHY: At Camp Voyager, we believe in the power of play, imagination, and choice. We are dedicated to helping each camper have a sense of achievement, build relationships, and deepen their belonging through finding their voice in camp. Our Summer Day Camp offers your child a chance to explore, take on exciting challenges, and engage in hands-on learning—all while coming home to you each evening. Join us for a summer to remember!

All camps run at the Dover YMCA are proud to be accredited by the American Camp Association. Developed exclusively for the camp industry, this nationally recognized program focuses on program quality, health, and safety issues, and requires us to review every facet of our operation. Camp Voyager has voluntarily submitted to this independent appraisal done by camp experts and has earned this mark of distinction.


CAMPS

Traditional Day Camp

With themes like Super Heroes & Fairies, Olympics and Around The World in 5 Days, every camp week is fun-filled and action-packed. Campers ages K – 7th grade will experience a variety of activities including arts and crafts, environmental education, swimming, team building activities, field trips, character development, outdoor games, and more! Optimal for youth who love to spend time in the great outdoors or are wanting to try something new in their summer journey.

Soccer Camp

Soccer camp is a structured program designed to help campers learn/improve their soccer abilities. This includes drills and games that focus on enhancing techniques like passing, shooting, kicking, and defending. The camp will also emphasize physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Soccer camp will provide a fun, engaging environment for participants to develop their skills and enjoy the sport.

Basketball Camp

Basketball camp is a camp program aimed at learning/improving camper basketball skills, such as shooting, dribbling, passing, and defense. The camper will participate in quick drills, exercises, team play, and games, while also focusing on physical fitness and teamwork. Campers will be able to enhance their skills, build confidence, and have fun in a supportive environment.

Volleyball Camp

Volleyball camp consists of campers improving/learning basic skills such as serving, passing, setting, and blocking. Volleyball camp offers a fun and supportive environment for campers to develop their abilities, increase their knowledge of the game, and gain confidence in their skills.

All Sports Camp

Campers will participate in a variety of sports including basketball, soccer and dodgeball over the course of the week. Campers will have fun trying all the sports this week while working on sportsmanship and making new friends.

Master Chef Camp

Campers will be able to participate in a variety of cooking and culinary themed activities including top chef challenges, food art, and intro to gardening while learning about healthy eating habits.

Music & Dance Camp

Campers will be able to experience and participate in fun games and activities surrounding topics including music and dance while working on a group talent show.

STEAM Wizards

Campers will be able to experience and participate in fun games and activities surrounding topics including science, technology, engineering and mathematics based on a “wizard” theme.

Monday – Friday: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Are lunches or snacks being provided this summer?

Yes. Both are provided – Menus will be available upon request and sent in ProCare.

 Are field trips planned for this summer?

Yes there are!

  • June 25th – Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA – All Camp Celebration
  • July 18th – Lewis Beach

What should my child wear each day to camp?

Dress your child in weather appropriate attire. Wear close-toed shoes (no flip flops, sandals, etc).

*Children will not be permitted to enter camp if proper footwear is not worn.

What does my child need to bring DAILY?

All children must have:

  • Water Bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Swim attire (bathing suit, water shoes/flip flops, towel, goggles-optional)
  • Packed Lunch- If they don’t like the provided lunch.
  • Weather appropriate attire

*Please label EVERYTHING so we can help get lost and found items back to your child.

Please DO NOT bring the following items to summer camp:

  • ­­Electronics (Ipad, cell phone, tablets)
  • Toys
  • Jewelry or other valuable possessions
  • Pets
  • Alcohol or drugs of any kind (will result in IMMEDIATE dismissal from camp)
  • Anything else perceived as inappropriate

*Materials not permitted will be confiscated and held in the camp office until the end of the week or until arrangements have been made for pick-up.  Multiple offenses are subject to a camper’s dismissal from camp for the remainder of the summer season.

How will you communicate important camp information with parents?

Most camp communication is done through the Procare app. Parents must download the app to get real-time messages to the campground regarding their child. Parents will be contacted via phone in the case of serious or emergency situations regarding your child.

Do campers swim every day?

Yes, all camper swim everyday weather permitting for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

  • Explorers and Adventures | 9 -10:30 a.m.
  • Voyagers and Pioneers | 10:55 a.m. – 12:25 p.m.

 What is the cancellation policy?

  • DEPOSITS: A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required per child, per week to reserve your spot. This non-refundable deposit cannot be applied to additional weeks. If you need to change, cancel, or modify a week, including a change to membership status (holds, cancellations, and terminations), the Deposit paid will not be available for transfer or refund.
  • CANCELLATION AND CHANGE REQUIREMENTS: ALL Change requests must be made two weeks prior to the week you wish to change using the Cancel, Add or Change Form. If proper notice is not provided, the full week of camp fees will be due and will not be refunded.

How late can I register my child for camp? 

Camp enrollment for the upcoming week closes on Wednesdays at noon, THE WEEK PRIOR. For example, for the camp week of June 30th, enrollment closes on June 25th at noon.  No exceptions for enrollment after that time will be made without the Camp Director’s approval. As a reminder, your child is not fully enrolled until all required documents are received by the camp.

What if my child needs medication while at camp?

  • PRIOR TO the start of your child’s camp week, a medication form must be completed and brought with your child on their first day. Medication forms can be found here.  Please note:
    • Prescription medication MUST be in its original container and properly labeled with your child’s name and necessary information (dosage, how often medication is taken, etc.)
    • Over the counter (OTC) medication should be in its original container with no evidence of prior use (seal cannot be broken).
